Fraud Prevention Checklist

Here are some things you can do today to increase your security and help protect yourself against fraud and identity theft.

 

1. Keep your contact information up to date

2. Create the strongest possible passwords

3. Allow push alerts on the Mobile Banking app
Why it matters
Choose security alerts to remind you to change your password or to inform you that someone has tried to log in from an unrecognized device.

4. Protect your devices
Why it matters
Keep all of your devices updated with the latest browsers, security patches and software to help protect against vulnerabilities that hackers can exploit.

5. Enable biometrics (fingerprint sign-on or facial recognition)
Why it matters
When someone gains access to your personal information, they can pretend to be you online.

6. Know the red flags that signal a scam
Why it matters
If you provide your information or money to a scammer, there is often little we can do to get your money back.

7. Know which third parties have access to your account information

There may be risks with sharing your information with third-party money management apps and websites.

8. Send encrypted messages to your advisor for secure corresponding
Why it matters
Feel confident when investing online with secure document sharing and eSignature.
